Emily is a versatile musician, songwriter, and composer originally from London, with a career spanning classical performance, musical theatre, and pop music. A classically trained pianist from an early age, she studied under esteemed Royal Northern College of Music professor Judith Burton. She also trained in classical voice, flute, violin, and saxophone.
At 16, Emily was accepted into the prestigious Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, where she majored in musical theatre. Her stage credits include leading roles such as Miranda in Return to the Forbidden Planet, Rosie/Betsy in Sweet Charity, Princess in Aladdin, and Alice in Dick Whittington, touring the UK in numerous professional productions.
During her time at Italia Conti, she performed in a band with classmates Mark Ballas and Derek Hough. The group later moved to Los Angeles and signed with Disney’s Hollywood Records as the Ballas Hough Band, releasing their debut album in 2009 and touring across the United States.
Following the band’s run, Emily built a successful career as a touring and session musician. Her performance credits include national and international tours and televised appearances with major pop artists including Demi Lovato, the Jonas Brothers, Victoria Justice, Greyson Chance, Brynn Elliott, and Christina Perri. Additional television credits include performances with Miley Cyrus, Mike Posner, and the All-American Rejects.
Currently, alongside her songwriting work with Christina, Emily continues to compose original solo piano and orchestral works. She is also developing a new musical centered on themes of motherhood and breaking generational cycles. A dedicated multi-instrumentalist, she continues to expand her repertoire, with cello, clarinet, and lever harp among her most recent pursuits.
